What your image style?
I am dynamic photographer with two primary styles of portraiture. Glamour portraits and family portraits.
My glamour photography is created in studio setting with natural light. Natural light is my preferred lighting style, but I do have the technical expertise to use continuous lighting as needed. I use continuous lights when evening sessions are needed. My goal with glamour portraits is to sculpt and shape the body with proper posing to create dynamic, beautiful images that will stun. I don't use photoshop to trim and slim; it's simply not my style.
My family portraits are quite the opposite. These are environmental images in an agreed upon locations. Family shoots are generally scheduled two hours after sunrise or an hour before sunset. I love capturing the mood and feeling that comes from the waxing and waning sunlight. Silver hour and Golden hour portraits adds to the feeling that I strive to capture in all my family portraiture. I believe shooting during these hours creates some of the most compelling family images.
Utah County is my primary location; areas outside of Utah County. I am happy to travel outside of Utah county with add-on $50 travel fee.
What areas do you serve?
How far out are you booked?
Typically, I am scheduled 30 to 60 days out. You may indicate your preferred time frame for your session, but together we will select a date that works for both client and photographer.
Where will my session be held?
Glamour portraits are held in a natural light studio in Utah County. Session are scheduled during daylight hours to utilize sunlight. Availability changes with the seasons and the increase or decrease of available sunlight.
Evening portrait sessions may be scheduled, but will have a different feel as I will need to use continuous lighting.
Lifestyle portraits are environmental location shoots. Client and photographer will work together to select an ideal location for photo shoots. Shoots generally take place about 1 hour before sunset. This time of day has magical lighting that will transform your photos.
Sessions are one (1) hour. I am a fast shooter and get my shots very quickly. This allows me time to incorporate ideas and thoughts that you may have about your session at the end. I encourage you to always be thinking about how you would like to be photographed. Share that with me and together we will make a memory that you will cherish.
How long will my session be?
My style is to guide and direct clients through poses in a natural way. I never want anyone to feel uncomfortable or like they don't know what to do. I want to create authentic natural images for you. Providing direction allows me to craft organic and authentic portraits that have "emotion" to them. I don't have anyone pose in ways that may be out of there comfort zone. If needed, I do touch my clients to get correct body sculpting to make the best images for them. If you are uncomfortable with touch, just let me know. I get personal space and have no problems respecting the boundaries of my clients.
When it comes to children, I want them to be themselves. If you have a runner, I let them run. Don't like to smile in pictures? Not a problem. I try to make all my sessions organic and stress-free. The best way to help me meet the needs of everyone in your group is for you to fill out the My Style questionnaire as thoroughly as possible. Questionnaires are sent after a date has been set for your photo shoot and a the reservation fee has been received.
What will my session be like?
An informational email is included with all scheduled photo sessions which have paid their reservation fee. The email will be sent prior to your session date.
Glamour portraits are meant to be fun and playful, to let you feel your loveliness as we play. I encourage to you pick 2-3 of your best dressed outfits. If you don't have something that just makes you feel IT then go shopping or borrow clothes. Do what it takes to make a stunning image that you will love always. You won't regret it. If you would like assistance with hair and/or make-up select the add on when you purchase.
Lifestyle portraits are environmental. Think about where you will be, near water, in the mountains, forested area, or urban. How do you want yourself to appear? In harmony? Juxtaposed? Make your clothing selection accordingly.
For families, I encourage choosing a palette that coordinates, but not matches. Eschew logos and print material. Solid color clothing is more timeless than printed material when it comes to portraits. Be assured, in the end, with lifestyle portraits what you wear is not as important as who you are and the connection that bonds you. Do consider the decor in your living space and how the colors that you wear will look on the walls of your home. We are creating art and art is meant to be displayed.
What should I wear?
